We are extremely excited to finally be able to re-open the doors of Smoke + Mirrors. Our response to the COVID-19 pandemic is to implement new, more specific policies, to protect our clients and staff, and to contribute to the reduction of community spread COVID-19. Smoke + Mirrors has always maintained the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation. We continued that commitment with ALL staff having completed the BARBICIDE® COVID-19 Certification to be up to date with the specific sanitization procedures as they apply to dealing with COVID-19 transmission. We appreciate your continued support and understanding and hope that we can work together to bring life back to your hair while keeping everyone as safe as possible.
The following information is provided to help you prepare for upcoming appointments at Smoke + Mirrors during the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to your appointment you will be required to sign a waiver;
– COVID-19 Client Protocol and Consent Form – indicating you understand the risks of hair services during a global pandemic.
This waiver must be completed and returned at least 24-48 hours prior to your appointment; otherwise, we reserve the right to cancel and/or reschedule your service. Arriving at your appointment while exhibiting symptoms and ignoring our guidelines will lead to refusal of service and will require partial payment of the scheduled appointment.
At this time, we ask ALL clients to arrive at their scheduled appointment with FRESHLY WASHED AND DRIED HAIR. We are NOT offering any blow-dry services and will only be shampooing clients who are scheduled for color services. Haircuts will be done on dry hair. Hot tools will still be used for styling. If a haircut requires wet hair, the client can expect to leave with wet hair. Failing to come to your appointment without washing and drying beforehand can greatly affect the stylist’s ability to perform your service, and you may be asked to reschedule your appointment.
Arrival: Our waiting area is temporarily closed. When you arrive please call 667-930-3974, or send a text to 667-220-8432 to let us know you’re here. Stylists will be cleaning and sanitizing their equipment and stations before and after each client. Please do not enter the building until you have received a confirmation text or call indicating your stylist is ready. Only individuals with a scheduled appointment are permitted in the building. Since we are operating at limited capacity, children, friends, family, and or walk-ins are not permitted at this time. REMINDER: The parking lot on the side of the building, DOES NOT belong to Smoke + Mirrors, and towing may be enforced by the owner of the lot.
Masks: Masks will be worn by employees and clients at all times while in the salon. YOU MUST BE WEARING A MASK TO ENTER THE SALON. Upon entry/during services, one-time use-disposable masks will be provided as part of your service.
Temperature Checks: Temperature checks will be performed for staff and clients upon arrival. If you have a temperature of 99 degrees or higher, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.
Hand Washing and Sanitizing: You will be required to wash/sanitize your hands upon arrival and several times during longer appointments. There will be sanitizing stations located throughout the salon.
Social Distancing: All guests are required to practice social distancing guidelines. Keep in mind, stylists are required to social distance whenever possible. Therefore, your stylist will likely leave the station in between color processes.
Personal Belongings: We kindly ask that you limit the amount of personal belongings you bring with you in order to reduce the amount of surface contact with items from outside the salon. We will not allow extra items such as: laptops, jackets, etc. Please keep those items at home or in your vehicle. We ask that you keep the contents of your bag contained to your stylists’ station.
Food/Beverages: You may bring one beverage to your appointment. Food will not be permitted. We will not be providing any beverages or beverage refills.
Products: We will continue to offer product sales, however, our retail area is temporarily closed for browsing. If you are interested in purchasing product(s), a staff member will retrieve it for you.
Payment: We will process payments as “touch-free” as possible. We ask that you do not use cash as a form of payment of services or tips. Tips can be added to the card payment or Venmo directly to their stylist.
